I often need to use the ABNT style but there is only the (author, data) that should show me (Iid,2000) on the second time the same author is quoted and other similar issues.
There also should be a numeric version of the ABNT Style, which is also predicted according to the ABNT NBR 10520 (2002). There are plans to do it soon?
I know it is a free program (far cheaper than the competitor with U$$125,00), but I've just started using the software and really enjoyed using it, and according to my teachers the lack of the numeric style and minor corrections to the (author, data) style are small problems that make author's life difficult when we have correct more than 100 pages on a thesys.
But thanks for the great Software.
Although there is no such ABNT using numbered citations, it is possible to create your own citation style in Mendeley 1.7, which is due for release later this year.
What is the problem you are having with the ABNT style with regards to second citations?
Thank you the attention Josh,
I will wait for the 1.7 version then to create the numeric style.
According to ABNT style second citations should appear as (Idem, date) and (Ibidem, date) at the third time, if both at the same page.
If the reference is repeated in another page, the first of the page is (author, date) then (Idem, date) for the second time then (Ibidem, date) at the third time.
And this repeats at every page for each author.
One suggestion regarding to citations from web pages: the citation itself could appear as (author, access at year) or ( author, "acesso em" year). Because most of the teachers/PHDs etc. at University of São Paulo-USP in Brazil recommend that we should use this to show that that reference belong to a web page.
Thanks for your e-mail. Although we do not have exact timescales on the release of 1.7, we are steadily releasing development versions for users to test with. Mendeley 1.7-dev3 should include the csl editor as you require, and should be released later this week or the start of next week. Please bare in mind that, as this is a development build, there may be bugs with the software. You can find the development releases on http://www.mendeley.com/download-mendeley-desktop/preview/
