I am having the same problem as others. I have disabled synchronization for my entire library (by using the 'Edit Settings' pane as you suggest), but files deleted from my web library are still also deleted from my desktop. I tried emptying trash, etc., logging on and off to both the desktop and the web account. Files are still synced on deletion. Thank you
Hello, can you please describe the behaviour you refer to as " “files deleted from my web library are still also deleted from my desktop” in a little more detail?
If possible, try describing the actions you performed, so that we can attempt to reproduce this issue ourselves. It will also be helpful if you specify what behaviour you are expecting and how what actually happens differs from that expectation.
Thanks in advance.
Hello. So sorry for the lack of clarity.
My goal is to turn off synchronization for some of my Mendeley Desktop library folders, so that not all of my Mendeley Desktop pdf files are stored on my Mendeley Web account. I followed directions provided by your website and from help responses to other clients. I went to the Edit Settings pane and unchecked the "Synchronize attached files" box for the folders that I did not want to be synced. Yet after unchecking this box, pdf files were still stored on my Mendeley Web collection. I then tried removing these files from my collection on Mendeley Web and found them to also be removed from my collection on my Mendeley Desktop. I am wondering how to remove unwanted pdf files from Mendely Web collection without also removing it from my Mendeley Desktop collection. Thank you.
Please try going to your Edit Settings in Mendeley Desktop, activating sync for selected folders, and selecting all the folders manually before saving and syncing. When this sync is complete, either disable sync completely or disable sync for the folders you do not wish to sync, and sync again. This should clear your personal storage space. Thanks in advance.
