In your privacy policy it says: Data is only uploaded to your Mendeley account when you have entered your account details into the Mendeley Desktop software.
Does this mean once I log into the software? Also what data do your systems upload from the software from my computer? Is my library private from not only other users but also from your servers?
This does mean when you log into the software. By default, Mendeley Desktop uploads your file attachments and metadata to the web library. You can choose not to upload file attachments to the web library throught the Edit Settings button in Mendeley Desktop. In this case, metadata will still be uploaded to the web library, anonymized, and added to the Mendeley web catalog. You can keep references from the catalog by marking them as unpublished in the Details tab for the reference in Mendeley Desktop. Hope this helps!
