I'm looking for a tablet to supplement my laptop and making reading PDFs easier on the go.
There are two things I'm looking for: that I can annotate the PDFs on the tablet, and that these annotations will sync with my PDFs on Mendeley on my laptop. Is this possible? If so, what tablet would you suggest?
Mendeley currently offers a Mendeley Lite app for the iPad. In addition to this, there are apps available for Android machines such as Droideley and Scholarley, created by third parties using our OpenAPI. Unfortunately, as far as I am aware, none of these apps offer the ability to read, create, or edit annotations within the app. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you.
FYI; by the time Scholarley reaches version 1.0.0 (estimated to happen later this month); it will most likely support uploads of modified PDFs (with annotations) back to the Mendeley server. The annotations will have to be made in an external application (such as ezPDF); but this process will be transparent to you.
Hopefully that makes you feel better :).
[P.S. I am the author of Scholarley.]
