You explain well in the article "Am I allowed to post PDFs of my publications on my Mendeley Web profile page?" when we can and when we cannot put the PDF of the publication on the profile. The question is how to deactivate this PDF download for everyone without deactivating the whole Publication list ?
thanks
I believe the simplest option at the moment is to create a second copy of your publication which does not have a PDF attached and put that copy in your My Publications folder.
This is admittedly a little cumbersome, we'll try to provide simpler controls in future.
In addition to Rob’s suggestion, you can also hide your PDF files in your profile by logging in at www.mendeley.com and then clicking My ACcount >Edit My Profile. You will then find the option to Hide PDF for all the publications listed in your profile. This will remove the PDF file for download both from your profile page and from the Mendeley catalog. Hope this helps!
Thanks, I was looking for an answer to this question :) it works perfectly
Can you please specify how to find this "hide" button? I do not find it on my my profile. Thanks.
If you log into Mendeley Desktop online and click My Account >Edit My Profile, then you will find the option to hide PDFs for all documents uploaded to your My Publications folder in Mendeley Desktop.
I don't know if it is only me, but when I go to subsequent pages of my papers the "hide" flag disappears. I am using Mozilla Firefox 4.0 on a windows 7 environment (32 bits)
There is a hide checkbox for each document. You will need to click into the specific categories (Journal Article, Book, Thesis, etc) to see them.
