I think reading papers on the iPad is a great way to use Mendeley, however I find it severely limiting that I can't highlight text or make notes when using the mobile app. Is there any way to do this, or any plans to implement this in the future?
There is no annotation functionality in the iPad app at the moment but it is something that we would like to add.
I find this very limiting, too; I could totally eliminate printing papers if I could annotate on my iPad. When do you think this functionality will be added?
Please please add an annotate/highlight pdf feature for the iPad..also allow me to sync w Dropbox....until that time the iPad app and by extension the whole service is pointless,.....please add theses features....please
Hey Other AdamM!
I've created a folder in dropbox for my papers and use that as a 'watched' folder on my desktop client. I think that's integration enough TBH otherwise there's 2 copies of papers everywhere!
That also allows me to use neu.AnnotatePDF (http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/neu.annotate-pdf/id407107609?mt=8) until Mendeley add the annotate features into iPad
But at least +1 for early incorporation of the annotation features PLEASE!!
I agree with the other comments. Without the ability to annotate the pdf, the app is very limiting.
I agree with the previous comments. One way of annotating on the iPad is to send the pdf to GoodReader, annotate, and send the file back to Mendeley. However, I could not find how to tell Mendeley that I want to replace the old pdf with the annotated one. And the annotations don't show in Mendeley's reader.
I second that, but with PDF Expert. I highlight / insert notes on PDF Expert, then I email the annotation. Then I copy all of my annotation, and put them in "Notes" section in Mendeley. This is all done on iPad.
The problem that I'm having is that the annotation that I put in from iPad doesn't get synced to the web, and therefore the desktop Mendeley.
