Generating a verbose log file with Mendeley Desktop?

Mendeley has a facility to generate to a 'verbose log' which includes all the data sent to and received from Mendeley Web during a sync. This does not happen automatically, so you need to set it to do this yourself.

To use this option in Windows and Linux:

  1. Open Mendeley Desktop as normal
  2. Press Ctrl + Shift + D on your keyboard
  3. Click "Logging" in the dialog box that appears
  4. Check the box marked "Enable Verbose Logging" and sync your library
  5. Once the sync is complete, click View Log File in the dialog box and save this log as a text file.

To use this option on Mac OS X:

  1. Open Mendeley Desktop as normal
  2. Press Cmd + Shift + D on your keyboard
  3. Click "Logging" in the dialog box that appears
  4. Check the box marked "Enable Verbose Logging" and sync your library
  5. Once the sync is complete, click View Log File in the dialog box and save this log as a text file.

You can then send the resulting text file to support for further investigation.
